PERTINENCIA DE LA INVESTIGACIÓN QUE SE REALIZA EN LOS INSTITUTOS UNIVERSITARIOS DE TECNOLOGÍA DE LA REGIÓN CENTRO OCCIDENTAL DE VENEZUELA

Resumen

RESUMENEl propósito de esta investigación fue el de establecer la pertinencia investigativa en los IUT de la Región Centro Occidental, en concordancia con las necesidades del sector productivo. Se desarrolló una investigación de campo bajo un enfoque cualitativo, con base en una muestra intencional de 40 informantes claves, representantes de diferentes organismos externos a los IUT, como fueron: empresas del sector productivo, organismos públicos, fundaciones y asociaciones privadas e institutos de investigación. La técnica utilizada para la recolección de datos fue la entrevista en profundidad. La información obtenida fue sometida a un análisis de contenido, para lo cual la misma fue transcrita, codificada, categorizada y triangulada. De dicho análisis emergieron tres categorías, a saber: impacto de la investigación; condiciones de vinculación y prospectiva de vinculación. Los resultados indican que: (a) no existe un verdadero impacto de la investigación que se realiza en los IUT hacia su entorno, particularmente hacia el sector productivo, (b) las relaciones más consistentes entre los IUT y los organismos externos están motivadas por las pasantías de los estudiantes; y (c) los informantes aprecian un amplio potencial en las relaciones futuras que se podrían establecer entre los IUT y el sector productivo para trabajar en proyectos de interés mutuo. Se recomienda reorientar el enfoque actual de la función de investigación en los IUT a objeto de hacerla más coherente con su misión y con las necesidades del entorno económico, social y cultural al cual sirven.Palabras claves: Investigación en los IUT, pertinencia investigativa, vinculación IUT – sector productivo.THE PERTINENCE OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED AT THE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY INSTITUTES FROM THE CENTER-WEST REGION OF VENEZUELAABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to establish the pertinence of the research conducted at the Technological University Institute (TUI) from the Center-West Region of Venezuela according to productive sector needs. A field research using a qualitative approach was utilized. An intentional sample of n = 40 subjects representatives of factories of productive sector, public agencies, private foundations and associations, and research institutes were employed. The research technique utilized for data collection was the depth interview. The obtained information was submitted to a content analysis, so it was transcribed, coded, categorized and triangulated. Three categories were obtained from this analysis, these were: research impact, vinculum conditions, and vinculum prospective. The results indicate that: (a) there is not TUI research impact upon factories, (b) the strongest relationship between TUI and external organizations are associated to the students training activities or internship, and (c) subjects anticipate a great potential in the future relationship that can be established between TUI and productive sector to work together on project of mutual interest. It is recommended to reorientate the TUI research function actual approach so that they become more coherent with their mission and with the needs of the economic, social and cultural sectors to which they take care of.Key words: TUI research, research pertinence, vinculum TUI-productive sector.
